Scripts
To make your life easier when downloading and using scripts, prepare a new folder or folders to receive the zipped script files. Note that some scripts come packaged together in script bundles.
After creating your new folder, download the zipped script file package to it. Then, unzip it in place which will expand the files. Load the .HTM script file into your text editor and change the file paths for each of the images, sounds, Flash, etc. to agree with your particular folder's file path on your system. Your life will be made infinitely easier if you download and install one of my Copy File Path programs available on this web site. After changing the file paths, click on the .HTM file to try the example.
Some of the script packages reuse the same image, so you may have duplicates during the unzip process if you unzip all to one folder. It is okay in all cases to overwrite the old image.
Most people will want to try the zipped examples and to experiment using their own images. However, all zipped scripts are complete - they can viewed and be used as is (after changing file paths, of course). Images are included. By creating a separate folder for each script or script package, you will have a home too for your own prepared images you want to use for the script.
Some of my scripts are written expressly for the Outlook Express preview window and may look a little out of proportion in a larger IE window. Not to worry. Image sizing will be better when viewed in the normally short but wide OE preview window.
Programs
Most of my programs do not use a full install (Setup) procedure. In most cases, unzip the package into a new folder and click on the .EXE file to execute. All programs are written in Visual Basic, so having the currrent VB Runtime files is necessary. They can be downloaded from Microsoft at this site: Visual Basic Runtime Files
In the odd case where you need an additional Visual Basic control to run the program, you will find directions to it on the program's download page. Instructions on loading and registering the control will be given as well.
