There are eight Microsoft Internet Explorer Power Tools and two executable program tools in this package. Here are their basic functions:
ulrlist.htm
Links List.
Right-click an open area of the web page and choose Links List. A new window is launched itemizing each clickable link on the web page.
frm2new.htm
Open Frame in New Window.
Right-click on body of web page and choose this item to create a duplicate of the displayed web page in a new window. It's actually easier and faster to just do a CTRL-N, which accomplishes the same effect.
highlight.htm
Highlight Text.
With the mouse, select some text on a web page, then right-click it. Choose the Highlight option. The script will permanently highlight the selected text in yellow.
imglist.htm
Images List.Links List.
Right-click the open body of a web page and choose the Images List option. A new window is launched containing all the images and image information on the web page. A great tool for web page development.
magnifytext.htm
Magnify Text.
With the mouse, select some text on a web page, then right-click it. Choose the Magnify Text option. The font-size of the text is increased, making it more readable. Great for those pages with small text. There is no option to reduce the size of the same text.
selsearch.htm
Select Search.
With the mouse, select a word or a short bit of text on a web page, then right-click it. Choose the Web Search option. The text is sent to the default IE search engine and the search results are presented in a new window.
zoomin.htm and zoomout.htm
Zoom In and Zoom Out an image.
Right-click any image on a web page and choose Zoom In or Zoom Out. Image size is reduced by half (Zoom Out) or doubled in size (Zoom In). You may Zoom In or Zoom Out multiple times.
Toggleimages.exe
Toggle Images.
Put this somewhere handy and click it to turn off image rendering when loading a web page. The image space is preserved on the page - it is just not loaded or displayed. Web pages do load fast this way! Click Toggleimages.exe again to reverse the effect. Don't forget to reverse it!! You will wonder why your IE doesn't show images.
Quicksearch.htm
Quick Search.
Allows you to use the Address Bar to run quick searches, i.e, typing "av ships" would search Alta Vista for the word "ships". Use Quicksearch.exe to select the default search engine and other set up.
