Script Tools

Much of what you'll find here are script tools I've written in VBScript and JavaScript. Most are specific to stationery work or the Internet. What's Installed
Many people seem to have difficulties with IE filters or the loss of the filter set after IE or system upgrades. I wrote What's Installed so you can see whether your filters are intact. The script also detects many other items necessary for our stationery hobby. A comprehensive list of what's installed/not installed for your machine is generated.

Download the zip file, unzip, and save anywhere convenient. Click on the .HTM file to run.

URL Country Codes
Ever wonder from what country the web page you are looking at is coming from? With this Internet Explorer Power Tool I wrote you can instantly find out. URL Country Codes has also been updated for the seven new domain names coming this fall, 2001. Use this right-click utility to identify the country of origin for any web page.

Download, then unzip urlcodes.zip into a temporary folder. You will see two files. Save the urlcodes.htm file to the C:\WINDOWS\WEB folder, then right-click on the urlcodeskey.reg file and choose MERGE to add the required registry key. To use, just right-click on the background of any web page and choose the new menu item "Identify Country Code". You'll always know where you are!

Note: The web host for a particular country MAY NOT actually be inside that country. The country code, as used on the Web, is merely for registration and URL identification purposes only. Most times, however, the site is being delivered to you from the country indicated.

ColorViewer Program
This HTML and VBScript program gives you an easy way to test screen colors right onscreen. You can also scroll through the color spectrum one, two, or three colors at a time! Gives hex triplett, percentage, and decimal value of RGB. No install necessary. Create a separate folder for it, download, unzip, and click on the ColorViewer2.htm file to run.

Auto Login for Hotmail and Yahoo
Ever wish you could get directly to your Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail Inbox without wading through all those web pages? You can. Plug your login name and password into this script, save, and click on the .HTM file. You are there in one click. No typing necessary, either!

Window Size Tester
Ever wonder the pixel size of your Outlook Express or Internet Explorer window? Use this script and you will know. It can help you to size your posts more accurately. Checks the OE preview window too!

Anti Spam E-Mail Address
Hide your e-mail address on your web page or within your post from web spam robots. Use as a signature too. Plug your e-mail address into the script and it only exists when a mouseover is done. It's undetectable!

ColorOverlayEditor Program
This 10,000+ lines HTML and VBScript program allows you to experiment with filters, images and text onscreen using multiple semi-transparent layers. Creates the HTML necessary to send your creation as Outlook Express stationery. It is fully documented. No install necessary. Create a separate folder for it, download, unzip, and click on the ColorOverlayEditor.hta file to run.

IE5 Web Accessories
These are the original Internet Explorer Web Accessories offered by Microsoft. They work wonderfully with IE 5 or greater. Great for stationery enthusiasts and web designers too. Download and click the .EXE file to install.
